Sondes Fkiri, a Tunisian researcher from the National Research Institute of Rural Engineering, Water and Forests (INRGREF) [11], was runner-up in the INCREDIBLE Knowledge Contest on NWFP [4] with an innovation entitled  A new technology of extracting the fixed (non-volatile) oil of Pistacia lentiscus for the benefit of rural women [12].

Successful exchange visits were awarded to the top innovators in the INCREDIBLE Knowledge Contest on NWFP [4], with the visits taking place earlier this year.

INRGREF (Tunisia) and its five partners are pleased to announce the launch of MEDLENTISK project. Funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, this project aims to promote the exchange of good practices around the Mediterranean on the little-known lentisk tree and its vegetable oil. It is still produced in a traditional way, which influences the yield and quality of the extracted product. The composition and therapeutic virtues of this oil have also been little studied, even though this shrub is found throughout the Mediterranean area and seems to have significant qualities.

Sometimes, the profitability of the use of a forest resource depends more on the business model and entrepreneurial culture on which its exploitation is based, than on productivity factors or technological development associated with the use itself.
