Cork is synonymous of many things: incredible raw material, bioeconomy, circular economy, rural economy, agroforestry, ecosystem services, etc. Despite all the success factors there are also many threats and challenges that must be tackled.
The iNet Cork Scoping Seminar is an opportunity for cork sector stakeholders to join and participate in the design of the iNet Cork, which will be consolidated through collaborative work over the next three years and beyond.
This is an international meeting that will gather the main members of the cork sector coming from Italy, France, Spain, Portugal and other Mediterranean countries.
During the working sessions of the Cork iNet Scoping Seminar, the innovation needs of the sector will be discussed among the stakeholder’s present at the event, in order to establish the roadmap for cork under the INCREDIBLE project. The programme of the seminar can be found here [1].
The event will be held in the city of Olbia in Sardinia (Italy) at Grand Hotel President (11, for the meeting) and in Bono (12, for the field trip).
The Cork iNet coordinator is Union of the Mediterranean Forest (UNAC [2], Portugal) and the local focal point and co-organiser is the project partner FoReSTAS [3] (Agenzia forestale regionale per lo sviluppo del territorio e l'ambiente della Sardegna).
The main objectives of this scoping seminar are:
- To inform the participants on the INCREDIBLE project and its objectives;
- To present, discuss and validate the iNET Cork specific materials (value chains maps, main challenges, themes, etc.);
- To discuss the selected iNET themes and how the INCREDIBLE networks can play a role at addressing them;
- To draw a roadmap for the iNET Cork.
