• "The "INCREDIBLE" project aims to show how Non-Wood Forest Products (NWFP) can
play an important role to support sustainable forest management and rural development".
Inazio Martínez de Arano. EFI, Consortium coordinator
  • "The Aromatic and Medicinal Plants iNet enhances the sector's competitiveness by establishing
a collaborative and open innovation process. The iNet provides the opportunity for actors with
complementary knowledge of the Aromatic and Medicinal Plants value chain to work together and exchange
    expertise and experience".
Ibtissem Taghouti, INRGREF, Tunisia, iNet facilitator.
  • Wild mushrooms are the most widespread non-wood forest product in the Mediterranean
basin and truffles provide the highest yield among them, significantly contributing to rural
economies. The Wild Mushrooms & Truffles iNet brings together Mediterranean stakeholders
across the mushroom-truffle value chain to boost the added value of such products, which is
    currently underestimated
José Antonio Bonet. CTFC, Spain, iNet facilitator
  • "The Wild Nuts & Berries iNet looks to link existing networks in the Mediterranean, namely those on chestnuts
and pine nuts. Actors in the sector are coming together in common efforts to face the major challenges
for the value chains and their supply from forest systems: new exotic pests and diseases,
ongoing climate change and weak market positions due to a lack of profiled product developments".
Sven Mutke, INIA, Spain, iNet facilitator.
  • "The Resins iNet seizes the opportunity offered by the current renaissance in natural resin extraction
activity in the Mediterranean basin. In these times of open and mould-breaking innovation,
this rebirth is anchored to old techniques of forest management, exploitation and transformation,
offering the chance for actors in the Mediterranean natural resin value chain to take the lead in innovation
and launch the sector into the future."
Javier Calvo Simón. Cesefor, Spain, iNet facilitator.
