Biocastanea 2020: XI International Meeting on Chestnut

Due to COVID-19, the 11th International Meeting on Chestnut, Biocastanea 2020 will not celebrate its traditional fair, but organisers will continue to hold the technical-scientific conferences which, on this occasion, will be held online.

This is an event organised by Mesa del Castaño del Bierzo (an association of chestnut producers), which aims to promote and revitalise the chestnut sector, raise awareness of the importance of the survival of this species for the whole of Spain within the framework of the European Union, as a cultural, landscape, environmental and economic element and transfer the knowledge achieved through research projects.

The Wild Nuts & Berries iNet of INCREDIBLE project will be presented in one of these technical-scientific sessions (20th November, 12:30AM), through a conference by Sven Mutke, researcher at INIA, a member of our project's consortium. Mutke will present some of the advances achieved during the three years working in this iNet with some products such as chestnut and pine nut.
