Experiences of A&MP production (Technical field trip)

With this trip (from 16 July to 18 July) we want to offer the opportunity to know experiences and professional productive models of different and diverse aromatic and medicinal plants that can serve as real examples in the ambit of production of aromatic and medicinal plants.

Visits will be made to both farms that produce dry herbs and essential oils, to farms that produce large quantities of commercial raw materials and sell them in bulk, and to others that produce smaller quantities and produce final commercial products that are distributed directly by theirselves.

Very well-established projects with a long history and younger initiatives that have opted for diversification in rural areas. A visit will be made to a mixed lavender and truffle farm and to a farm that combines the harvesting and cultivation of liquorice in an area with a strong tradition of this species. In this trip will visit drying facilities with different technology and dimensions and three distillation facilities exemplary in its field, as well as field machinery and specifically different models of PAM collectors.

The trip is mainly addressed to enterprising farmers or cooperatives who are interested or curious about the possibility of producing aromatic and medicinal plants (AMP) in their area in order to diversify their activity based mainly on traditional crops of olive, almond and, in some areas, grapevine.

Departure and arrival of this three-days trip is Lleida (Catalonia).
