Scenarios of climate change and forest production, how can forest stands be adapted?

The Wild Nuts and Berries iNet will hold a new Science to Practice day, now focused on climate change and forest productions. Our partner the National Institute for Agricultural and Food Research and Technology (INIA) co-organises this meeting with the Valladolid Forestry Association and the University of Valladolid through its Institute for Research in Sustainable Forest Management (iuFOR). The day (whose full title is Scenarios of climate change and forest production, how can forest stands be adapted? Keys for owners and managers in the central Douro basin) is aimed at technicians, managers and forest owners in the region.

This event will focus on several challenges of global change, and how forest and marginal agricultural landowners are urgently seeking viable alternatives that allow for adaptation of forest systems or new plantations to the climate expected in the 21st century and thereby become more resilient to new pests and diseases. This meeting aims to bring these owners together with technicians and managers of the different public bodies in the field and to share the knowledge and experience available and allow an exchange. Where? University of Valladolid, Miguel Delibes Campus. LUCIA Building (41.66338, -4.70409/41º39'46,26" N, 4º42' 29,13"W).
