We are engaged in a continual process of weaving together the networks of non-wood forest products (NWFP) in the Mediterranean, meeting new actors interested in taking part in knowledge transfers and innovations across the different value chains of these forest products.
In this constant endeavour of offering our knowledge and experience, and learning from what others have to offer to us, the INCREDIBLE project has held a great number of workshops, seminars and events: all with science and practice as fundamental axes.
As some of you already know, we periodically hold a series of thematic meetings in the countries where INCREDIBLE project consortium members operate. Thus, after the scoping seminars, which were useful at the beginning of the project to launch each of the iNets, the following meetings have been held, from November 2018 to December 2019:
32 Science to Practice one-day events. More than 1,100 people attended these meetings. Distribution by iNets:
14 Interregional workshops. More than 500 people attended these meetings.
This year our project has also carried out its first cross-cutting seminar, entitled “Integrating NWFPs in Territorial Marketing and Ecosystem Service Value Chains”. This meeting, the first of its kind in a series of three, aimed to allow knowledge flow and uptake between different sectors (e.g. tourism, marketing, etc.) and knowledge uptake by the NWFP actors, from other sectors that can contribute to the exchange of new ideas and solutions. Around 80 people attended this cross-cutting seminar in Albareto (Italy) last May.
Several “Science-to-practice” one-day events, one more interregional workshop and two more cross-cutting seminars are coming in 2020. Stay tuned for more information on these upcoming events!
