Aromatic and medicinal plants are one of the most important non-wood forest product (NWFP) in the Mediterranean area. Croatia has a large amount of these resources that have not been utilized so far to their full potential because the sector is not organised. In order to appear in global market and to develop the sector, ideas on certification and traceability from other European countries should be discussed and adopted, if possible. Before developing the sector, fundamental rules described in national legislation should be prepared. Interregional workshop gathering relevant stakeholders from the sector (national and international) is important in the process of standardization of products derived from aromatic and medicinal plants.
This is another INCREDIBLE project Interregional Workshop, organised by the Croatian Forest Research Institute (CFRI) for the Aromatic and Medicinal Plants iNet, and addressed to national and European administrations, decision makers, aromatics and medicinal plants pickers, growers and traders, industry representatives, tourism officers, R&D.
